The R/C Fliers of Venice, Inc is a club of remote control airplane  enthusiasts  who build and fly model aircraft in Venice, Florida. Our members fly  gas, nitro, and electric powered  airplanes, gliders, sailplanes, & helicopters. Our annual Giant Scale event attracts many of the top builders and fliers in the country.

Monthly meetings are held at Memorial Field, 10am on the  2nd Saturday of each month. 

(No meetings in June, July, Aug, Sept or Oct)

We invite you to visit us at our beautiful unobstructed  flying field  featuring 450 ft. paved, and  grass runways with safety screened pilot boxes  and  spectator viewing area. Pilot parking is at the pits, with spectator parking directly adjacent. Electric fliers are welcome to use any of our three 200 watt solar powered charging stations. We have also just added a live on line  (including this site) weather reporting system, for those who would like to check conditions at Memorial Field before they drive all the way out.

Bob Shaw Memorial Field, our world class 50 acre unobstructed flying site, features a 50 X 450 ft paved runway, with a parallel  100x500 ft grass runway.  The field features 4 screened pilot boxes, fenced pit area with 20 model setup tables covered by sun shades and a shaded spectator area with safety screening. For electric flyers, we  have two 200 watt, 12 volt solar powered charging systems with 4 charging stations as well as a new 800 watt, 24 volt system with a doul 60 amp station for 6 and 8 cell packs. Pilot parking is at the pits. Spectator parking is directly adjacent. In addition, we have sanitary outhouse facilities.  An electric generator is used for special  events. However, we have no water hook up.

We also have a live on line weather reporting system, for those who would like to check conditions at Memorial Field before they drive all the way out. An app is avalibe for your smart phone ( iPhone & Android ). Load the WeatherLink app. Follew the instructions under (Username Sign Up ) and set up a new account. Location: Near I-75 and exit 195. Go east on Laurel, turn north on Knights Trail, proceed 4.5 miles to Sarasota County Land Fill, follow signs to the rear of the complex.  ( Gates are locked every Sunday, plus  New Years, July 4th, Thanksgiving  and Christmas day.)
