Bob Shaw Has Passed Away
It is with sadness to say that on May 20, 2020, The R/C Fliers of Venice lost a fine member. Mr. Shaw helped make our field the best in Florida. He funded the extension of our runway, the sunshades, and control line circle. He also worked behind the scenes with Bob Shapiro and Bob Vittato, funding our Mega IMAC Competitions, and bringing in world class pilots to our field. His passion, and generosity to Model Aviation Is beyond words, and he will be greatly missed. The service will be a private event in the Commonwealth of Kentucky for close family due to the current COVID-19 situation. Please keep Mr. Shaw and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Respectfully, The R/C Fliers of Venice

The R/C Fliers of Venice, Inc is a club of remote control airplane  enthusiasts  who build and fly model aircraft in Venice, Florida. Our members fly  gas, nitro, and electric powered  airplanes, gliders, sailplanes, & helicopters. Our annual Giant Scale event attracts many of the top builders and fliers in the country.

Monthly meetings are held at  7pm on the  2nd Wednesday of  each  month at the Venice City Hall, room 114, at 401 West Venice Ave in downtown Venice. (No meetings in June, July or Aug)
We invite you to visit us at our beautiful unobstructed  flying field  featuring 450 ft. paved, and  grass runways with safety screened pilot boxes  and  spectator viewing area. Pilot parking is at the pits, with spectator parking directly adjacent. Electric fliers are welcome to use any of our three 200 watt solar powered charging stations. We have also just added a live on line  (including this site) weather reporting system, for those who would like to check conditions at Memorial Field before they drive all the way out.
